VAL

Born in Switzerland in 1991, Valentin Bussard gradua- ted from the CFPAA of Geneva in Industrial Design. He then received his Bachelor of Arts at the SwissDesi- gnCenter in Lausanne whilst working freelance for various companies. During his studies in 2011, he received an award for his design of a massive granite table for the Chinese game “Go” in Bastions Park, Geneva. After working in various fields such as archi- tecture, glass making and luxury design, he then moved to England to discover new ways of perceiving and creating objects and further developed his personal approach to design.

Each of his pieces are the result of a thoughtful creative process and an investment in meticulous research into the materials used and the subtle emotional impact of the vibrations emanating from familiar objects. Showing great attention to detail, Valentin’s clean and simple designs are greatly influenced by the environ- ment they will inhabit and by their manufacturing process. He describes his aesthetic as reflective and pragmatic. Currently living and working in Switzer- land, he continues to explore versatility, branching out into different domains such as textile and exhibition design, whilst expanding his creative process by colla- borating on divers projects with other artists, industrial designers, photographers and graphic designers.

DOM

Dominique Green is a Swiss/British interdisciplinary artist who works with photography, video and installation. She gradua- ted in 2012 from the Photography School of Vevey, Switzer- land (CEPV) and is currently living and working in England, finishing a joint honours Bachelor of Art and Film at the University of Reading.

Her practice is focused on nature and landscape representa- tions, which are created through the superimposition of multiple layers of media. These layers create illusory dimen- sions that melt into one another, in order to manifest and explore new media ecosystems.Through her work, Dominique achieves an ongoing dialogue between phenomenology and our experience of nature. Using technology as an art medium, we are able to expand our perception of nature and explore heightened planes of sensory perception.

In 2016, she exhibited her work in Lausanne, Reading, London, Shanghai and Prague. She has also participated in joint exhibi- tions such as Val&Dom, a collaborative project with Swiss designer Valentin Bussard, as well as solo and group shows in partnership with the Department of Fine Arts, Reading Univer- sity.
